Correct Snooker Stance

Snooker Stance TutorialA correct snooker stance is basically the correct body position you need to adapt when playing snooker.

It is something you have to constantly keep in mind when practicing your snooker game. It is quite an important aspect if you want your shot to be on target.

If you notice yourself constantly taking innacurate shots then maybe it is down to your stance.

By taking notice of your positioning when taking your shots you may realise where you are going wrong and be able to correct it.

Sometimes even the smallest changes in your efforts can make a huge difference. The correct snooker stance will result in the perfect cue action. Basically your whole game is down to your snooker stance.

The Characterisitics of a Correct Snooker Stance

Your body should be stable. To make sure it is, your feet should be spread out creating a wide base for your body to rest on and your weight should be equaly distributed. If your legs have not stabilized your weight then you will more than likely move forward.

You should be in a comfortable position. In general you should be able to maintain that position till your shot is complete because if your body moves in the slighest when taking your shot, it could have a negative effect on the outcome.

Left and right handed players will have an opposite stance to one another. For right hand players your right leg should be held straight, with your left leg bent at the knee in front of it.

This bend in the knee allows for your head to be aligned with the cue ball. The oposite to this position is the correct stance for someone who is left handed.

One final important part of a snooker stance is the placement of the head. You should hold the cue stick in the center of the head. It is also best to align  the head and the aim in a straight  line.

Also concentrate on having the table and the head at a 90 degree angle as this will help you so much in creating the correct snooker stance. Remember, practice makes perfect!
