Correct Stance for Snooker

Snooker Stance TutorialOne of the most important things in a game of snooker is the snooker stance. To be a successful snooker player you have get a correct stance for snooker.

Those who have been playing snooker for long but are not able to master the game can do better by practicing the correct stance for snooker.

Snooker stance is all about the body position when you play snooker. The right body position before taking your shot will help you in your cue action. Your body has to be in line with your shot and the cue.

Those who are playing snooker for long will realize that a slight change in their body position will make a huge change on their performance.

To develop a good cue action it is very important to get a correct stance for snooker. Snooker stance is the base on which you can build the whole game.

The snooker stance is all about getting your body position right. It should be comfortable and stable so that when you are taking the shot the body should not move when while taking the shot and also the player may hold a perfect position to aim at the ball.

Snooker Stance

Having a wide base is a snooker stance which is most useful. Unless you position your leg properly you cannot get your shot right as your body will swing during the shot and this will lead to the shot going wide. The weight of your body has to be distributed equally so that the body remains immovable and comfortable. The legs should be moved apart to give a support to your body.

Once you have distributed your body weight and the correct amount of balance has been acquired it is unlikely that your body will over balance while you are taking a shot. The distance between the two feet touching the ground has to be right to give you proper balance.

Improve at snookerYou can’t have your feet too far pulled apart or too close. This will not be the correct position.

The correct stance for snooker is to pull your legs apart as much as the width of your shoulder.

This will keep your body from going over balance when you bend forward to take a shot.

The position of the hips is the next important thing in the snooker stance. The right hip position can be achieved only when your legs are in position.

The leg position also depends on whether you are a right handed or a left handed player.

The leg position of a right handed player will be opposite to the one with left hand. Coming to the correct stance for snooker the right leg should be held straight.

The left leg while being a shoulder breadth away from the right should be placed in front of the right and bent at the knees to align the head with the cue ball. This stance is meant for right handed people.

Another snooker stance is to place your head. Your head has to be in straight line with your aim. The cue stick will be held from the center of the head. The head has to at a 90 degree to the table for a correct stance for snooker.

This is because once the snooker stance has been perfected and is rock solid, there will be no movement from your body to affect any other part of your snooker cueing action.
