Snooker Sighting

Snooker Stance TutorialThere are many components involved in playing the perfect snooker game. Some of these components include your stance, your cue action and snooker sighting.

The stance is basically how you stand, position your feet and balance yourself while taking your shot. Your cue action is how you hold your cue before you take your shot and how you actually strike your cue ball. Snooker sighting is where your eyes are fixed when executing your shot.

Snooker sighting is one of the most important aspects in any snooker game. It helps you to identify exactly where the cue ball is lying and helps you to line up your cue to hit the cue ball exactly where you need to hit it.

Without utilising the most accurate snooker sighting along with the stance and cue action will result in you not taking the shot you intended to. Your eyes should be positioned on either side of the cue ball.  The biggest mistake people make when playing pool and taking their shot is that they take their eye of the ball. Your eyes need to maintain fixed on the object ball throughout your entire shot.

You need to focus on the exact point of the ball where you intend to hit it. It is very important that you remain patient and keep your eye on the ball before you take your shot and also right up until the ball stops moving. This will ensure that you do not lose focus and will ensure that you hit the ball exactly where you intended. As well as this you will learn from any mistake you made when hitting the ball.

Improve at snookerDid you know that a lot of people have one eye that is more dominant than the other! It can actually help improve your game if you find out which one of your eyes is your dominant one.

To find this out you need to point a spot on the wall using both eyes. Then close your left eye, if you’re right eye is still looking at the same point on the wall then your right eye is your dominant eye.

However if your right eye is not looking at the same spot on the wall your left eye is your dominant eye. Make sure you check both eyes however, because a small number of people don’t actually have a dominant eye at all.

It can be important to find your dominant eye as it will ensure you are aiming at the right part of the ball. Basically practicing all the techniques involved in playing a good snooker game especially your snooker sight, will prove very beneficial to your overall skills.

The cue action and the point at where you are cuing on the ball is what will determine how your shot turns out, so be sure to keep your eye on the ball at all times for good snooker sighting!
